Vietnamese & SE Asian American Writers: Call for Manuscripts

diaCRITICS is a project of the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network (DVAN), whose primary mission is to promote voices and stories of the Vietnamese diaspora through nurturing writers, poets and artists, and connecting their work to readers, audience, and diasporic communities all over the globe. DVAN is excited to announce the launch of a new literary publishing series in partnership with Texas Tech University Press to support talented Vietnamese and Southeast Asian American writers.

Texas Tech University Press (TTUP), founded in 1971, is the university press of the American Texas Tech University, located in Lubbock, Texas. TTUP publishes regional titles, natural history and environmental studies, Western Americana, and Vietnam War and Southeast Asian studies. The collaboration with DVAN expands TTUP’s scope and reach by centering the perspectives and poetics of Vietnamese and Southeast Asians in the U.S and Asia.

For the inaugural year, we are looking to publish a Vietnamese American novel, memoir, or a short story collection. Submitted work will be reviewed by academics and writers from the DVAN network.

Requirements:
– Full edited manuscript, between 200-300 pages
– Manuscript must not yet be published
