my memory is a respite is a mirage is a forgetting–
is a language is a garden of dead pine leaves is yellowing lawns,
is ocean tears is glacial tropics is haunting is burning joss paper;
my memories are desperate, grieving, stacked into crates,
categorised and cartographed into sections on a shrine,
diced and flaked in gold and salt, misery and mirth.
