March 13, 2025 (SAN FRANCISCO, CA) – The Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network (DVAN) is proud to present Still We Rise: 50 Years After the Vietnam War on April 26, 2025 – a landmark event that will unite internationally acclaimed authors and groundbreaking artists of the Vietnamese diaspora for a powerful evening of reflections, poetry, and music.
Program Highlights:
- Panel discussion with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Viet Thanh Nguyen and renowned photographer & Guggenheim Fellow An-My Lê.
- Poetry reading and discussion with National Youth Poet Laureate Alexandra Huynh, award-winning spoken word artist Bao Phi, nationally acclaimed poet Paul Tran, and Santa Clara County Youth Poet Laureate Thy Hope Luong.
- Musical performances by Indie Rock & Folk sensation Thao Nguyen.
“It is important for us to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War from our perspectives,” said DVAN Co-Founder and Executive Director Isabelle Thuy Pelaud. “We must do everything we possibly can to empower our community and educate the public at large through poetic, critical, musical, and reflective lenses.”
