Non-Profit I Am Vietnamese anthology launches a free ebook and a kickstarter campaign for the print edition.
HOUSTON, TEXAS – December 2, 2014: The long-awaited I Am Vietnamese anthology is finally here. The 300 page collection contains 70+ stories from 60+ unique authors from multiple countries, including best-sellers Madeline Truong, Andrew Pham, Andrew Lam, and MasterChef Christine Ha. These edgy stories run the gamut from quirky parents, cultural confusion, abuse, bi-cultural marriage, and sexuality.
“We are so excited to bring you this raw collection of stories. Think of it as a hot bowl of pho that warms the Vietnamese soul. These are the stories of struggle and triumph from a displaced generation full of angst.” said Huy Pham, founder of the I Am Vietnamese project.
The ebook edition is available on Smashwords.com in multiple formats including .mobi (kindle), .epub, and .pdf. “We decided to make the ebook free because we wanted to make this phenomenal book available to everyone,” said Mr. Pham.
For those that prefer a print edition, a $5,000 kickstarter campaign was started and will last 30 days. Printed copies start at $25. “We hope a successful kickstarter campaign will show large publishers that there is a market for these stories,” explained Mr. Pham.
All proceeds from the anthology will go towards three phenomenal charities — the Vietnamese Culture and Science Association (VCSA), Sunflower Mission, and the Vietnamese American Scholarship Foundation (VASF).
